A city dweller brings a Sea Dweller to the countryside...
"Picturesque", "rural", "bucolic", "rustic" and "pastoral" are some of the words commonly used to describe the countryside...but in some cases, the words "robust", "powerful", "patina", "peachy" and "Rolex 1665" can also be used....
The watch is fitted with a somewhat faded grey MilSub nato, given to me by a friend, helping the 1665 blend in with the menacing skies and treacherous hillsides.
It's an early 8 mill. serial 1665 from 1983/84 (approx) which I think puts it with the last 1665 produced. During that period, the 1665s weren't fitted with super-domes, neither were their little cousins the 5513s.
The countryside is terribly tiring...I need to rest and "enjoy" a "nice" ale....
You actually can't see the ale in this picture....but perhaps it's better that way..!
Pictures were taken with my trusted handheld phone whose poor battery life should have been conserved, in case of an emergency, instead of having been spent in camera mode!

I had a 1999 16600 with a SWISS only dial...only difference between the two is that i would bring the 16600 on aquatic expeditions but not the 1665....
