A few initial comments on the V. Halter Classic
Although an exceptionally staid design by VH's standards, the Classic nonetheless looks like almost nothing else on the planet (well, among wristwatches, anyhow). Still, it's a time-only center-seconds gold watch, silver dial, black Arabics, blue hands, but with an extraordinary presence. Not to put forward my wrist as representative of anything whatsoever, I found it most convenient: (more below)
Even this picture cannot convey the manner in which the VH dominates its surroundings.
Some responses have asked the question of size, and if I might approach it obliquely, consider the 5 dress watches below, each rendered in the modern idiom which is about 1/3 larger than the dress watch of yesteryear. These watches range in diameter from 36mm to 38.5mm; so, how large is (or seems) the Vianney Halter?
