A fun day at the racetrack.
Last week we decided to take the beast out for a track day. Confidence the brakes and tires would survive the abuse were actually very low so my friend went to buy some secondhand half worn ones for the back. Our Armenian distributor was happy to help us out for a very cheap set (hope we make it to the track at least).
The beast ? Mr B's 2004 E55 AMG with 476 hp ... and probably over two tons to haul.
A little video:

Most other cars were far more suited for track use .. like this magnificent R8 ..
How about this little Abarth ?
911 991 GT3 Clubsport.
911 GT3 Cup car.
A little briefing for the unexperienced track drivers ... as i was one of the few attending the briefing i knew all the others were real pilots ... hum hum
The iconic Delta Integrale ... this guy had a lot of fun when it started raining
One for Luc
Can it get actually any cooler than this ?
600 kilos of pure joy
Look at those details
50 years ago everything was so simple
Alfa 147 GTA if i'm not wrong
The 911 GT3 Cup
Ready to take off ....
BMW 135i, if this car would have 200-300 kilos less on the scale it would be perfect.
The stunning R8
The new M4 or M3 whatever .... this was quite a performer
Glorious V6
The engine bay of the little Abarth ... over 150 hp for 600 kilos
Almost time to leave ...
... before accidents happen ;-)

Fun track !

Circuit de Clastres not too far from Reims :-) ... a very safe track, only one left-hander with off camber and a very tight left at the end ... that was quite kinky. On the small straight i attained only 175 kph (110 mph), a bit more would have been possi...
Rabbit! Look out!
By: patrick_y : May 17th, 2015-13:57
Those rabbits do a lot of damage when you hit them at speed. I've seen an entire front bumper crack and split in the lower half due to hitting one in a country road in California. Seems like the rabbit you encountered lived to hop another day!
Yes Shooting Brake !

But he didn't take it on the track ... only people mad to take a heavyweight are me and mr. B apparently ... i found it very amusing it took that black 911 Turbo Cabrio with 500 hp over 5 laps to close a 200 metre gap on me :-) ... even though i was caref...
The SBC Braking System
By: patrick_y : May 19th, 2015-11:46
The SBC (Sensotronic Brake Control) Braking System on Mercedes-Benz vehicles was adopted for the W211 E-Class from 2003-2006, the SL-Class cars for many years, and the Maybach cars. It's a fully computerized brake system with a lot of safety benefits, but...
