A Funky 70’s Roll Call – who’s in?!
Hello everybody!
Over at the JLC forum we have been discussing a lot about funky watches from the 70’s.
Mostly Memovox but others as well.
I guess I am somewhat guilty of raising the topic over and over again…
Can’t help myself – love these big and bulky ladies!
Now I thought it would be interesting to see other Funky watches because I know JLC was not the only one doing these oddly shaped watches.

This one is the king of funky
The 563-42 is the kind of watch that, if I put on my wrist, my wife will say "not with me"!! But I love this squareness. Cheers

Hi Looks cool. However, I think Bellmatics are like Memovoxes in one respect. Its better to stop at one - it'd take a lot of collecting to get the full range. Though fortunately if you want to they are a bit cheaper! Cheers JML

The brown dial is sweeet
Brown was such a Seventies colour. Like the Longines as well - a little known diver from them.

You have some wonderful examples of them - I think they are great looking watches from the period. Keeping my eyes peeled for one - especially with the crown at four.

M7 would be 1967, not 1977
So this is an earlier 218. Almost looks custom made. Really interesting. There's a story behind this one. What country was it purchased in?

The first SO is not so big, around 40mm, the second one - the Chrono-matic, is jumbo size at 47mm!...

BTW, the FF : a colorful detour for BP, very unusual- Almost with a certain " here I am" - statement.. - but still with that nice bezel, I like so much ! -- haven't seen one of those, only a bit on Nico's report of the Blancpain event in Paris, Thanks for...
The FF was produced
in the mid Seventies to the Spec of the German military. I think it may share a case with some Squale branded watches from the period as well. It's a cool chunky watch - thanks for the nice words.

OK, I will cheat a bit… This pair of E 861 is from the end of 60’s. One of the first Funky JLC’s. Best Blomman...
