Hello everybody! Over at the JLC forum we have been discussing a lot about funky watches from the 70’s. Mostly Memovox but others as well. I guess I am somewhat guilty of raising the topic over and over again… Can’t help myself – love these big and bulky ...
But to be honest I had one of these (not Omega) when I was young… Your photos are stunning, my friend! Wish my E 871 came out that good in pics… After seeing your Maser Quarts I start to wonder if maybe I must get me one of these?! Thank you f...
I don't know why, bu these 871's somehow haunt me, make me smile: mirrors of a time - young we were.. Wish I had not missed one orange one last year, hope for a second encounter, again . But yours really is awesome, -- Thnx for your nice trio, BTW, Best, ...
Looks great! JML, after seeing your Bellmatic I had to dig a bit in the subject… And came up with this one! Thank you for pointing me in the right direction! Best Blomman...
Hi Looks cool. However, I think Bellmatics are like Memovoxes in one respect. Its better to stop at one - it'd take a lot of collecting to get the full range. Though fortunately if you want to they are a bit cheaper! Cheers JML
I'm turning around the idea of getting one of these cool Heuer, now that my Bund has gone away, in a friendly home. I'm in love with the black dialed round Carrera, but I could well add one of these funkier examples, for the beauty of it. Nice trio, my fr...
it is not black--it is very, very BLUE... and one of my all time favorite watches... acquired from the King. Here is one of HIS pictures of it, which I can never possibly improve upon. This is another watch I really need to share more about. This message ...
This is a watch I didn't know... I have a lot to discover about Heuer watches, indeed... But I'm lucky enough to live in the same town than ... Laurent. Best, Nicolas.
You have some wonderful examples of them - I think they are great looking watches from the period. Keeping my eyes peeled for one - especially with the crown at four.
And yours is one of the nicest version I have seen, Andrew! The dial is awesome! Details like original strap always heighten the pleasure… Best Blomman
This is a M7 from the 70's and this Spaceview 218 is not a regular production. Only a few is produced I guess. Herewith some more photos: Cheers, sc...
... even more interesting that you had seen two before buying this one. I thought it may have been custom, but if there are others, Bulova must have made a special limited edition for the more affluent. Fantastic find!
Hello, Blomman, - always like that one, as you so well know.. As we appear to be mates for it, brothers in arms, though yours with that magnificent bracelet. So, yes - here is mine, also with some new strap, which uncreases it's funkiness, IMO. Ahh, yes, ...
Gives it another touch : - whereby the simple retro leather steap makes it going practically always, - the cool-blue has a somewhat dressier element, still relaxed I find, but more limited to combine with one's attire, IMO. Nevertheless, I enjoy this opti...
I was very close to get one of those, and when I saw that Blomman and you got them, I knew that one of you was just faster than me on this one. I will get one, one day, it is just a matter or patience... Grrrrr! Best, Nicolas.
And BTW, isn't there a great shot of the 2 (done with the famous lightbox), - the best pic of the brothers , I had the pleasure to have seen yet ? ( mine with the old shoes, though) -- Please, Nico ! Finally: what about all the other times, pains are on m...
How is that line: " Beat me", says the masochist - "Not yet", says the sadist .. Well, BTW : there is the one pic on the forum, which you kindly posted after a certain GTG, a magnificent shot ! ( must be sonewhere here..) - maybe one/ you might kindly con...
.. thought there might possibly be more for the 3072; - only 3rd I humbly know is Stefan Was just counting "S" to make the point, counting (general) "Bastardos", where there might be some. [To my mind comes something else, such as the SHOM, but there also...
A great era for so many different things, especially music and the odd watch. Here are a few of mine. A few Breitlings. The Fifty Fathoms. While not as funky on the dial - you've got to love the profile of this watch. And finally a Russian....
BTW, the FF : a colorful detour for BP, very unusual- Almost with a certain " here I am" - statement.. - but still with that nice bezel, I like so much ! -- haven't seen one of those, only a bit on Nico's report of the Blancpain event in Paris, Thanks for...
in the mid Seventies to the Spec of the German military. I think it may share a case with some Squale branded watches from the period as well. It's a cool chunky watch - thanks for the nice words.
