Jaeger-LeCoultre

A very nice Vintage

You all know that, these are unexpected moments, in life.

You attend to a Photography Event at the " Jeu De Paume " Museum in Paris, near the Place de la Concorde.

Place de la Concorde:

It was a fine event, as it was Richard Avedon's great pics which were presented.

We met there Dje and Mrs Dje, and Patrickh, and spent some great time admiring the work of this Artist, and more specially, for me, the pics he took of the Pop Artists, as The Beatles, and Andy Wharol.

As we were speaking with all the other guys ( and women ), Jerome noticed a Monsieur, and on his wrist, a fine piece of gold, in a rectangular shape, which looked a bit old.

Jerome and me, as you know us: " Please, Monsieur, may I have a look at your beautiful watch?"

The Monsieur: " Of course"...

And here is the marvel, a watch I never saw before except in pics:

This rectangular watch, in Yellow Gold, is amazingly designed....

Rectangular, but engraved indexes, in circle, all around the dial, which give a really particular and fine look, not to say allure, to this watch.

A gorgeous full calendar in a great condition for a watch which is nearly ...60 years old!

A very nicely balanced dial, with some perfect details, as the matching blue hands with the blue part of the sky of the Moonphase...

A detail and quite obsession of the symetry for the case, the lugs, and the dial.

Back Home, I made a plunge in my books, as I was sure to have seen it before...

And after a quick search, I found it in the " La Grande Maison " book...

This is the watch that was made in Hommage to Jacques David LeCoultre, created in 1949, one year after the death of J.D LECOULTRE!

As said in the book, the movement is the cal 486.

Isn't Life good and full of surprises?

Best.

Nicolas
