As my birthday is...

Hi fellows,

as my birthday is "in front of the door"  I want to share with you a marvel which was born in the same year as me...

I am not collecting watches from my birth year as a theme like Graham does - I just came across this pink gold chronometer by accident towards the end of last year and I fell in love with the extraordinary case design and  the rich PINK gold which is my favorite gold color.

I bought the watch and when I ordered an extract from Omega I got to know it was manufactured and sold in 1954 (my birth year) - this was the cream on the cake

I had expected a production date near 1954 according to the serial number and it luckily turned out that my suspect was confirmed. 

The watch is in very good overall condition and the dial shows it´s original finish with this lovely honey comb pattern.

The crown seems to be a wrong replacement though... hope I can find a matching one soon to complete the original look.

I must apologize for this not so perfect picture but it is very  hard to capture all the facets and angles of this case without creating

heavy reflections here and there... the picture does not do justice to this model!

The case houses a chronometer rated Cal. 354 which is well known here and need not to be introduced to you...

It is in clean condition and keeps time very well.

Lift a glass or two tomorrow and wish me good health for the next century to come   hurray!!
