Back from the SPA - IWC Portuguese 3712 Rattrapante
Team,
Got this watch months back and I sent it for a full maintenance and hands replacement (the hands had some discoloration).
Yesterday, it was returned.
Just glorious, IMHO.
Fresh pictures from this morning.
Love the simplicity and, at the same time, the rattrapante complexity.

The IWC 3712 movement is the brainchild from Richard Habring, that's 7750 with a split second module.
Add to that, the fact that it's hand wound and ... Hear me! ... No date!
My warm thanks to the local IWC Boutique, that managed the maintenance on an absolutely record time.

Thanks. It seems that one has to go far upmarket to get real richness and volume in an otherwise silent presentation.
Making good minute repeaters is part art and part science, perhaps with a bit of witchcraft thrown in.
It doesn't surprise me that La Grande Maison could produce a musical minute repeater.

Yes, way up market to get a decent MR.
The MR, unlike many other complications, cannot be done both well and inexpensively. UN had their recent relatively low priced tourbillon. Many have high-value perpetual calendars. But a good sounding, good value MR is elusive.
