Composite vs DLC

 

Hi all.
Sorry to come again with some more pics.

Just wanted to show the slightly and subtle difference between these two materials coming from Panerai

For me...Composite is much for soft and matte than ceramic. IMHO is more or less what we can see between old PVD and new DLC finishings. DLC looks softer, a kind of silky and smooth surface treatment. I know Composite is not a treatment...but I hope you can understand what I mean. Composite doesnt look as "hard" and dark as ceramic.

Hope you can see the very small tones differences from these pics







I did not anything to the pics. Just sizing to 800x600. Shot them RAW format, AUTO WB, and 4,5F with non Macro lens ( sharpness could be better...I know)

I'm surprised that actually the composite case is not as brown as I thought it was gonna be... Which is nice.. But the crown definitely looks brown... Quite a contrast with the case... And again.. Amazing shoT!! Best, Sam

These pieces are awesome. As the composites developed are dark brownish, it would be interesting if the colour can be changed to the blacker tone in due course. Thank you. Cheers,

Is it just me or is the composite material slightly darker than the proto 339. I saw the 339 proto last year and it seemed to be a much more saturated brown. Whereas more recent production 339 pics here and elsewhere, it seems to have gotten slightly blac... 

You are right. Much darker than the proto n/t
