Daniel Roth - Establishing a toehold in the work of this master watchmaker
Hello all.
Like many of you, I admire the career, work and influence of Daniel Roth from his early years at AP, his revival of Breguet, through his eponymous company and today to Jean Daniel Nicolas.
Pictured here is his Ellipsocurvex Moonphases ref. 368.X.40 in yellow gold. I've had a look around for more information on this watch - its years of production, numbers produced, critical reviews, and so on. There doesn't appear to be much around.
I'd therefore like to ask the sagacious members of this forum for any pointers. Given the intelligence available to me is quite thin, any tidbits would be very welcome indeed.

You're welcome. By some accounts he's regarded as the pioneer of modern independent watchmaking.
If he had just stopped with what he accomplished with Breguet, that would already have been a career. But since he became its principal watchmaker in his 20s, he had plenty left to offer, as we've since seen. His own company's watches from the early 1990s...
Can’t give you more info about this watch but like you i love his work and craftsmanship. There are some guys on IG who know a lot about his early pieces .
Would love to meet him at some point and see his newest JDN masterpieces . I recently added two DRs to my collection (still don’t know why it took me so long to do so) ...

Is there a catalogue of his references somewhere? Perhaps run by Bvlgari (similar to that maintained by Omega for its vintages). I will now approach Bvlgari about this, so is anyone reading this can share some guidance I would be grateful.
