Horological Meandering

Guys, I posted a request in the forum a little while ago

 

r/e suggestions for blue dialled watches and a lot of good people here gave their thoughts...thank you all!

I have somewhat narrowed down my choice between (though my mind may change again as I get to see more watches I have missed so far):
IWC Portuguese Laureus edition 2009 (5001) and Glashutte Original PML. Both have gorgeous blue dials. The problem is I haven't seen any in person. I used to have a 5001 but I ended up selling it due to its notorious accuracy (old calibre 500100) and I needed the money to fund another purchase. I loved the design but it just had to go that time...

GO, it's a new brand for me. I have seen the silver dial PML before but didn't pull the trigger. I would love to see the new blue dial version to really see how beautiful it is in person.

Now, if you had to choose, which one would you choose? I am not talking about investment value but maybe rather for its exclusivity, robustness/dependability of the mov't (I know IWC is robust but my old 5001 was not accurate at all despite having a gorgeous design...what about cal. 90 from GO?), everlasting design, etc.

However, the IWC Portuguese has always been one of my favorite watches, in nearly any layout and design, so my selection would be biased. I will say that the GO probably has a slightly more formal, upscale look to it, probably more unique in dial design a...

I stilll cannot make up my mind so I need all the help I can get. I know I can rely on all my brothers here in HOME ) But defintely going to AD and see the actual watches in the flesh would really help.

I have two IWC watches based on the 5000 Caliber movements: the 5001-07 Potruguese and the 5002 Big Pilot. And, I have owned other 5000s. I also have a GO Panomatic Reserve XL, which uses the GO 90 Caliber. All three are outstanding watches that I enjoy. ...

I didn't measure the accuracy of my Portuguese when I had it but I had to reset the time every, maybe, 3-4 days since it'd be off by 5 minutes and I just go tired of it. It was like that even when I got it new. When I inquired about it in the other site's... 

I would sugest...

the GO. I like IWC but the GO, in my opinion is a better made watch, with a more interesting mechanism- it is more dressy but the blue dial can be dressed down too. Good luck in making your choice- however as you will be the one wearing it, follow your he...

a tt or gold Rolex blue Sub! Believe you me, you will never get more of the above anywhere else. My Milgauss has not gained or lost a second in 3 weeks, (same mov't.), and these things never go wrong. Never.

Hehe I am over with Rolex. Used to have many of them

and agree they are very robust, accurate & dependable. I can wear my Sub without any worry at all.

I've never owned a cal 90, so I can't really comment regarding . . .

Personally, I would choose the GO for what is in my opinion a watch that seems to live above its pricepoint. It's a stunning piece with a mesmerizing movement. That said, both the blue and silver dial PML look lifeless on my wrist. Which is why I suggest ...

I love the PML but not the blue dial version. It does not seem to me a harmonious design. I much prefer the silver dial version. The Laureus IWC dials on the other hand have this amazing rich color. I understand what you mean about the accuracy though but...
