Have I gone crazy?
This is my third incoming watch in as many as 10 days. I keep explaining (and justifying) to myself that this is merely a coincidence - the ordered timepieces just happened to arrive at the same time...
Yesterday I picked up the Harmony Chronograph in pink gold. Boy, what a lovely piece!
The watch is one of six models created to commemorate the brand's 260th birthday. It has a cushion-shaped case, a single-button pusher and a manually wound movement. It is a limited edition of 260 pieces.
The silver dial is modeled against a 1928 pulsometer chronograph. Note the unusual 45 minute counter (as opposed to the more commonly found 30-minutes)
It is equipped with an in-house movement Caliber 3300
While the picture may not show clearly, the lateral-coupling system and column wheel are the features generally found in old-school, high-end chronographs
The balance cock is decorated with a relief fleurisanne engraving similar to a motif on the oldest pocket watch owned by VC, dating back to 1755.
Side-by-side with a next-of-kin - the Chronometre Royale 1907, also limited to 100 pieces
A mandatory wrist-shot. The 42 mm diameter is probably the largest size I can accommodate for a dress watch.

Agreed. My only reservation is that it is a bit flashy, as well as bulky on the wrist. I suppose the platinum versions are more understated comparatively... Best Sam
Nah, that's a rational purchase...
I'd call it a modern old school chronograph. While the horizontal coupling is classic, many components are incrementally improved from the movements that provided inspiration. Do the pusher and winding resistances feel "right"? Wear it in good health!

The pusher leans a bit on the 'tight' side but gives a rather substantial feel when pushed. Very similar to the Lang & Heyne monopusante chrono, the ALS Dato or even the PP 5960... Best Sam

A word for the CR
The Harmony deserves all the attention, but I'd like to comment on your beautiful red 12 Chronometre Royal. Thanks for sharing that piece too, one of my favorite "modern" VCs.

Yes, the CR was one of my earlier watches and is definitely a keeper. In fact, the CEO of VC told me that less than a 100 pieces were made due to technical difficulties. Best Sam
