Heuer Monaco
It is always interesting to see a Vintage model which is re edited.
Tag Heuer announced, this year the Re Edition of the original Monaco Chrono which was worn by Steve Mac Queen.
Here you'll see an ealry model, not the re edited one, but close.
The main difference?
The crown, located on the original and re edited model at 9, instead of 3, as usual.

This is an amazing watch:
On the pics, I always have the same reaction: I WANT IT!
Then, on the wrist, it doesn't sing to me anymore...
Maybe the big size, the shape?
Stunning, indeed, but a bit sad.

I once tried on a vintage Monaco, not a McQueen model, and had the same experience as you. In your hand or on a table, lovely. On the wrist....it just doesn't blend correctly. Perhaps it's the severity of the case shape. (Similar experience with a Ploprof...

we have similar tastes my friend. Although I like the watch and the idea I also tried one (re-edition) but it also did not look right on my I used to own a Monza, but sold it as it seemed a tad small on me- I like bigger sport watches cheers

Another Great Heuer I would consider adding to my collection is the Carrera, the original model from 64 if I'm not wrong. This is a nice round case, with 2 counters, very sober and elegant, sized around 38 mm. Best, Nicolas

I have this problem more with square than rectangular watches, loike the Reversos, the Lange Cabaret, or a karrée G.O. But with this Monaco, I have this problem.... Very sad, as I love this watch. Best, Nicolas
It appears yr model has hand-wound movement whereas the automatic version has crown at 9 i
I hav ethe grey dial auto version which also has date function and is one of my favorite.
