I have a real question that I don’t know the answer to. How do you determine what your watch may be worth? Auction prices seem to be all over the board. Some of the watch website sellers seem to have
inflated prices. Where does one go to get a handle on realistically what your watch should be valued at for a sale? If this discussion is not allowed then please excuse me. I am not asking about any particular piece nor referencing my watch or any others; just a general question that often perplexes me and wondering what your thoughts are on the subject. There usually is a seller's premium as well.
Perhaps more importantly, a lot of the watches in an auction are purchased by dealers, who are willing to pay only wholesale prices. The price only rises to a retail-type level if there are at least two retail-type buyers interested in the item.
Maybe it could be a 'pocket listing' like real estate...
