I finally decided to pull the trigger on the Tribute to Reverso 1931! It’s also my very first Reverso, so I’m opening up a new chapter - who knows where this will lead? I like the simple classic dial and the relatively thin case. It’s very elegant on the wrist and I suspect it will go well with casual wear as well as formal. I’ve always wanted a simple time only, manual wind watch in stainless steel, so this fits the bill.
For some reason I didn’t get a proper impression of it when it was first introduced. As I had hastily tried it on, it didn’t look particularly good on my wrist due to the length of the watch and the stiff strap, which flared out from the sides. This must have been over a year ago.
Recently, to view the arrival of the red dial, which I was very much looking forward to seeing, I took the opportunity to look at all the different Reversos in the boutique.
This one clearly spoke to me and I knew, as the saying goes: “resistance is futile”. It wears fine and my initial hesitation was an over-reaction and proved to be wrong. It took a while for me to fall for it but fall I did. I now see it in a totally different light. And totally loving it!
Thanks for looking and have a great start to the week!
( Nicolas: The “Red” is very cool but on my wrist it didn’t ‘work’, or maybe I’m too conservative?)
Cheers
Fernando
