Is it too redundant to own both a 5905P and 5960A?

I currently own a 5905P annual calendar chronograph and love it and will never sell. But I am not in range at my two Patek ADs to ever to be offered a Nautilus in my current lifetime and I have an insatiable desire for a stainless steel Patek sports watch on a bracelet. This brought me to discovering the white dial 5960A, a stainless steel white dial chronograph. Is it different enough from the black dial 5905P, which is also an annual calendar chronograph to not be redundant in my collection?

With the acquisition of a 5960A my Patek collection would consist of:

5130R World Time - rose gold white dial
5170J Manual Wind 30-minute chronograph - yellow gold white dial
5905P Annual Calendar 1-hour chronograph - platinum black dial
5960A Annual Calendar 12-hour chronograph - stainless white dial

They are different and both nice, though you should buy a 5960 only if you want a 5960, not as a substitute for, say, a 5711/5167...How about the black dial rather than the white one? ;-) [nt]

Because my 5905P is black, I would want white. There are good deals on the white dial. 15k less than the black. I also like it and the watch stands on its own and I wouldn't buy it as an alternative to a Nautilus, but thats only why I'm looking at it

I see them as very different references and wouldn't be concerned about redundancy because they'd likely occupy different niches in your wearing habits. The differences in metal, dials, colors, size, pushers, and sportiness easily distinguish them. Park

i've seen the 5960A white dial in person....it is a very versatile watch & it is something pictures don't do justice IMHO.

also i think the White dial is very adaptive to various leather straps !

I hadn’t considered removing the SS bracelet . Given I have the 5905P I’d probably keep it on the bracelet [nt]

1. If you bought them new you will already have a standing with a Salon or an AD, this way it’s easier to get on the list and receive your watch. So I understand all the pieces were bought from fellow collectors? 2. Salons by definition are not like ADs -...

I bought some new some from fellow collectors. My AD has already said the waitlist is 6 years and told me there are people who’ve spent a lot more money than I have who they need to satisfy first. No chance at my AD [nt]
