Jaeger Lecoultre 2015 SIHH: Master Calendar Meteorite in stainless steel or rose gold.Live!
I already reviewed this watch here:
I was impatient to see the rose gold and the stainless steel version in the real, to say all, as I found and still find the idea to use a meteorite dial very inspired on a triple calendar moonphase watch.
Why inspired? For a simple reason which is not that simple to describe in words, curiously. Let's try to say that the use of a material coming from Space works very well with or amplifies the moonphase complication.
It fascinates, for those who are in love, who are intrigued with Space.
Now the important thing is to see how the meteorite dial looks, in the flesh.
The pictures below are showing prototypes, so we are not sure that the dials will exactly look the same. Jaeger Lecoultre told me that they were still wondering if they will to re work on this material, or not, so nothing definitive, here.
Clear grey for the stainless steel, dark for the rose gold, it is a good idea to differenciate the two dials depending of the color of the case. After, to know which one is your favourite is a matter of taste. I have a preference for the clear grey, personally.
Here they are:
With a piece of meteorite:
And on blue straw:
Another detail I appreciate is the " small " Master Case, with its 39 mm diameter and its relative thinness ( 10, 6 mm high ).
Still, I think JLC can do better, something like a 40 mm MUT case, for example, would be awesome.
A future construction work, for the Grande Maison?
Best.
Nicolas
