Just got my 1st Rolex today....
Ciao everyone!
This is my 1st post here, because today i just became the new & proud owner of my very 1st Rolex!
The piece which i got is the Sea-Dweller Deepsea from this year's Baselworld!
Unfortunately, due to my lack of a camera, i cant post any shots yet! But as with the other forums, i will be getting a camera soon so i can post some photos for you guys!
In the meantime, i have a few questions which I hope some of you will be so kind enough as to help a newbie over here!
Q1. On Rolex's website about this piece, they said that the Calibre 3135 contained within my Deepsea has a Parachrom hairspring, I know that this is the blue hairspring of Rolex, but since my timepiece does not have a see-through caseback, just for the sake of a newbie, can someone confirm with me that the Deepsea Sea-dweller actually contains a blue hairspring in the movement? Just to help me sleep better as blue is my most favourite colour, and it'll be good to know i have something blue with me all the time, since i intend to sleep with my Sea dweller from now on^^
Q2.Is there any place where i can get more info for the calibre 3135? Rolex doesnt seem to have a detailed enough page on their official webpage that talks about this movement in detail.
Q3.It says that this piece has been certified by COSC, but how come i did not receive the COSC certificate that should come with all COSC timepieces as far as i am aware? I bought this from an AD, and as this is the 1st time i bought a Brand new Rolex, i dont know their system, I am living in Japan, and as with different brands, with their different systems in different countries, I will be receiving the guarantee card through the mail in about a month's time, will the COSC certificate be send together with the guarantee card then? Or has anyone who had experience dealing with Rolex in Japan knows how it works here? I will be giving my AD a call tomorrow to see what they say about this.
Q4. As i'm pretty anal about accuracy, what is the average precision of this piece, from any present owners or people who have owned pieces that have a similar movement? It is COSC, so i assume maximum gain is +6secs per day? I noticed that mine actually gain +2sec within an hour since i adjusted it to an atomic time standard, but i have to admit that i bathe with my watch with a normal warm shower, with the shower that i took in mind, is this gain in such a short time normal?
