Horological Meandering

Mods/customization/own builds

Happy New Year all…One of my New Year Resolutions is to start and stay consistent with a new hobby. I have decided that will be to build and restore watches. This will with start with buying, disassembling and reassembling “basic” Seiko/miyota movements and then of course casing them etc. before moving to servicing and restoring some vintage. My goal is NOT to build replicas (I see a ton of replica explorers, gmt master II, subs, etc. I’m this world). A lot of the cases, dials, hands made available seem to be geared towards those who do want to build replicas. With that being said, this is one of the nicer dials I have found for sale. Is this too close to being a replica? I would probably try to blue my own seconds hand and bridge plate screws , which I do feel would give a unique “bespoke” style, but the dial is prettttty close. Genuinely curious on thoughts.
