The number paint is indeed raised slightly from the dial. One thing I love about the Up/Down, and one of the reasons I chose it: no cut-off "6". (I respect the historical reasons why that's done on the other 1815s, but if given the option to have no cut-o...
...to why these photos turned out well: 1. Great subject. 2. Great lighting (off-camera speedlights). 3. Great glass (a macro lens). Get those, and any camera shines.
