the first sport 4 seater from Aston Martin was presented this week at the car show in frankurt, germany. This was the occasion for JLc to present a new version of the Amvox 2 transponder. this one is called "rapide" like the name of the Aston Martin Model.
for the watch the changes are in the esthetics. The inside remains the Amvox2, chronograph with start-stop-reset by pressing the upper and lower part of the glass, and the integrated electronic module to open, close the doors of the car or use a "find me" function ( in case you parked your Aston in the middle of 20 other astons of the same color
)
I had the chance to play with such a watch (well, the DBS version) and the matching car in dubai a few months ago. Although the idea on paper seems a bit opposing my love for mechanical devices, I have to say that the finished product is playful, superbly designed and incredibly well finished. I still prefer the more discrete version of the dial as seen in the "normal" amvox2 because I am not a big fan of the 2 big disks of the chrono which I find are a bit too visible. I would love to see more amvox watches with the ceramic case of the Amvox 3.
I suppose the next evolution is to get the Amvox that replaces all functions of the car key, including the start engine one. wait and see.
Only problem outside of being able to afford the Aston and the watch is ............................ valet parking
the Aston Martin Rapide.
