Horological Meandering

NYC-a couple of photographs from this weekend.

This meets you at the entrance to the Lange Boutique.

Grand Lange Moonphase. (I was intrigued by the very light blue moon background-I am not sure this picture does it justice.)

While at the Boutique to deliver my Cabaret for a service I got to see a very new Anniversary watch that was being delivered to its new owner the following day. I was not allowed to photograph the watch as I was not even supposed to see it. I would say this: the watch is much better looking in one's hands compared to photographs. Whichever watch I'm talking about ;-)))

Lunch at L'Express-escargot and Bourgogne Rouge. What else?!

This is the Con Ed building clock tower (Consolidated Edison-the electric utility company for NYC).

The tower, finished in 1928, was a real-life exhibit of what electricity could accomplish. Interesting fact: at the time Con Ed was known as Consolidated Gas-they were switching to an electric company at the time.

At night.

The Con Ed clock is located at 14th Street in the city-the Union Square neighborhood. Also in this neighborhood is a very unusual clock:

I've read about this clock and how it tells time but I cannot see it yet, so I cannot explain what it is we all should be looking for. When I go back to the East Village next (and please-no rain!!!) I will solve this mystery.

Thanks for looking!
