Paris on my wrist: The Polo Tourbillon Relatif Paris

 

The good point of living in Paris is to be able to visit the flagship stores of some of the most famous brands and to see the watches specifically made for them. I had this chance this afternoon when I visited the Piaget Boutique place Vendôme: I put on my wrist the famous Polo Tourbillon Relatif Paris!

It is a superlative watch in any sense. Rare (it's a limited edition of 3 watches), technically and artistically impressive, you can't forget it once you saw it.

Have you ever had the feeling to wear a city on your wrist ? This watch gave me this feeling.

The dial symbolizes the "Place de l'Etoile", the center of the watch is the "Arc de Triomphe" from which 12 parisian avenues start including the most famous one: the Champs-Elysées. The Polo Tourbillon Relatif Paris is powered by the caliber 608P and thanks to the mobile carriage put as a counterweight of the minute hand, we have a strong feeling of depth when we stare at the dial. Of course, the Tourbillon does a complete revolution of the dial in 60 minutes. It's a bit a sort of "double" Tourbillon for me because it also has its own revolution in one minute. It's a fascinating view for our eyes.

You will also notice the specific shape of the case and of the glass:

The case and dial feature "grand feu" black enamel. Thanks to this color, the watch looks a bit smaller than it is actually. It is maybe the reason why the Paris edition is my fav version of the Polo Tourbilon Relatif.









This black enamel is also put on both sides of the white gold case. And it gives a fantastic background to beautiful engravings of some of the most famous monuments of the french capital.

Have you noticed how the crown and its diamond were inserted in the landscape ?

The other side:

Look at the flag on top the Assemblée Nationale: the finishings are perfect.

You may be frightened to wear such watch: is it not a bit "too much"? The answer is obviously no. Because the colors are sober, because each detail was made with refinement.

Like the "classic" Polo Tourbillon Relatif, even if it is quite heavy, the watch can be worn with comfort. The only point is that we can spend hours watching the dial and the revolution of the Tourbillon...
