21st March 2010: Wellington, Florida.
Press Release and More......
It felt like the glory days of polo at the International Polo Club Palm Beach (IPC) a few weeks ago, as renowned Swiss watchmaker, Piaget, hosted the conclusion of one of the sport’s most prestigious tournaments, the USPA Piaget Gold Cup.

The day’s excitement kicked off with Jeffrey Donovan, known for his role opposite Angelina Jolie in the movie “Changeling” and as the star of the TV spy series “Burn Notice”, who arrived via helicopter onto Piaget Field. He was met by Mr. Yves.G Piaget and Larry Boland, President of Piaget North America, along with polo champions Nacho Figueras and fellow Piaget Man to Watch in 2010, Nick Roldan, who escorted him to the clubhouse for the traditional pre-match brunch.

Before play got underway, VIP guests including Oscar-winner and respected polo player, Tommy Lee Jones, and members of the press were invited to relax and enjoy a glass of champagne and Swiss chocolates in a specially constructed Piaget field side lounge.

On display were the newest editions of the Piaget Polo FortyFive timepiece, including two models with openworked dials and the new Piaget Polo FortyFive Lady models—one in white gold with diamonds and one in rose gold with diamonds. The display that received the most interest by far though was the new Marcos Heguy limited edition (only 45 pieces) of the Piaget Polo FortyFive.

With stunning blue dials, a “10 Handicap ” indication and the signature of Marcos Heguy on the crystal caseback, the watch looks every bit the champion it commemorates. This was the timepiece’s American debut and it was particularly memorable as Marcos Heguy himself traveled from Buenos Aires to Palm Beach to attend the festivities.
A few months ago, Kristian Haagen posted the first photos on this forum, to show the prototype Piaget Polo FortyFive Marcos Heguy limited edition.

What do you think of the Marcos Heguy limited edition?
