Patek Philippe ref. 585
Today, I felt like I needed something truly special on my virtual "watchprosite wrist".
So, here's the best I could find: Patek Philippe's ref. 585.
As indicated in the Extract from the Archives (cf. below), the movement of this watch was manufactured in 1913 and first sold as a pocket watch in 1929, before it was integrated into a probably unique wristwatch yellow gold 34 mm case in 1939.
The two-tone silvered dial signed ‘Patek Philippe & Co.’ and featuring applied pyramidal indexes and Arabic numerals was probably supplied by Stern Frères and fitted at the same time in order to create an entirely new and almost certainly unique wristwatch.
Now, if this isn't pure joy and beauty, I don't know what is.
Best, Emmanuel
