Pebble Beach 2016: RM Sotheby's Classic Car Auction

During Pebble Beach, not only do you see a lot of classic cars being driven, on display for judged events, racing at Laguna Seca for the Rolex Historic Races, and more.  But you also see them for sale at auction!  While your humble moderator cannot generally afford to buy any of these works of sculpture, one can still admire them for their timeless beauty.

Starting off with one of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen...  This Alfa Romeo tickled me pink.  Gorgeous.

I don't know which one is the bigger crime; Ferrari making such beautiful yet un-affordable cars or the crime of just making dull and drab cars.  Well, here you've got a beautiful Ferrari in an understated color, and yet it still looks beautiful.

Hello!  It's not just the famous Adele song, but it's what this Ferrari calls out.  It took all my strength to not jump in and drive it away.  Of course all the security and armed guards are there to prevent me and anyone else from doing that too.

This one has some white spots ready to accept a sponsor logo and a racing number.  Do I see #178 in its future?  Hmm, time to consult the "Mirror On The Wall" and the Crystal Ball.

There is something so calming yet so beautiful about the subtly styled 300 SL Roadster by Mercedes Benz.

What a gorgeous colour.  A vintage green Maserati that shines.

I love pre-war cars with the long fox-nose hood and the beautiful sweeping fenders.  This shape is my favorite shape, but unfortunately this lovely little phaeton has a not so lovely and not so little price tag!

Grand touring at its finest.  This Ferrari Grand Tourer was comfortable, beautiful, and very technically advanced for its day.

BMW has made some iconic designs in its past 100 years of existence!  When the BMW brand had just started off, Ferruccio Lamborghini had just been born!

Lot 238 is another fine specimen of cartoon cars with expressive designs and proportions.  There's something about those headlamps that reminds me of an adorable pet dog.

It's not going to attract a lot of tetraphobic Asian bidders with that big number on its side!

That's one happy Jaguar.  If this Jaguar were a dog at the pound, I'd rescue this one!

This blue Cobra will put any snake charmer to the test!

Which one is your favorite?  And which one will you be bidding on?  What are my bids?
