I am giving myself some time (before my wedding in 1-2 year's time) to consider "THE" piece. (She wants a Memovox, which I thought was great choice. I digress.)
I love timezone pieces, and am looking around for a versatile piece I can wear to work and also on weekends. My WW.TC Small Second is really gonna be that dress watch (suitable? another question maybe?) for formal occassions.
Have a soft spot for JLC, and have shortlisted several pieces:
- Master World Geographic
- Amvox 5 World Chronograph (a little more sporty, but can always push it since it's a JLC, heh)
- Reverso Duo (or the Grande, depends on how it fits when I'm ready to try on at boutique)
I know the first two are no longer available, and will have to hunt in the secondary market. Therefore, we focus on my main question.
Main Question:
Why JLC didn't design the Reverso Duo to function like the Nomos/Rolex/Omega GMT, where the 24-hour indicator indicates the home time, and the primary timezone can be adjusted hourly by the pusher?
- And will there be any possibility that they will eventually make one to work as such? I'm super confident they have the capability to do so.
I know it's not too much difference to adjust the primary timezone to the destination's and then use the pusher to adjust the 24-hour one to hometime. However, I thought if the watch is a travel watch, it would make more sense to have destination timezone adjusted easily via pusher, while the 24-hour time stay put to track hometime.
The latter is just a few pushes away without having to set the time all over again, as compared to the former.
Looking forward to have a discussion with seasoned timezone watch owners. And maybe get a few more guys onboard to tell JLC there's a demand for such revised function! :P
Really hope this will trigger a revision to the 854 caliber, and that I get THE perfect watch for my wedding!
Cheers!
