Logic vs Movement Design
i agree with you. The perfect Reverso travel watch would have "Local" time on the front dial with a date function. Pushers on the left side of the case would advance the local time hour forwards or backwards in 1 hour increments. The reverse side of the watch would register "Home" time as a 24 hour dial, and also feature an 8 day power reserve indicator.
The Reverso GMT got frustratingly close but moved the hour hand on the reverse dial which was not ideal. The thickness of the watch, probably due to the size of the barrels needed for the 8 day power reserve, made it thick and bulky even for large wrist. I reluctantly sold mine and bought a Rolex GMT.
The experts will probably know why my "ideal" configuration is not possible but I suspect it's due to the way the base movement is arranged that would prevent this happening without a complete redesign.
