SIHH 2015: First a look back at Audemars Piguet SIHH 2014
As SIHH 2015 is now less than 2 days away, let us have a refresher on Audemars Piguet SIHH 2014 and all of the great new releases we saw in this past year. The following photos are credit to the PuristSPro Moderating team, who did a wonderful job in covering Audemars Piguet at SIHH.
Starting off with a splendid new complicated watch in the Millenary collection, the Millenary Minute Repeater. We previously saw this watch launched a few years back in titanium with a grey dial; the 2014 version is offered in pink gold with a white enamel dial. As with the previous model, the movement features the Audemars Piguet escapement.
Another high end complication, the Royal Oak Concept GMT Tourbillon:
WOW.
With a white ceramic bezel and central bridge over the openworked dial, this watch is a real stunner.
Never forgetting the women's collection, 2014 debuted (2) new 37mm quartz powered Royal Oak Offshore models. Stainless Steel:
And pink gold. Both include white rubber-clad diamond-set bezels.
41mm Royal Oak Automatic pink gold in diamond-set case and bezel:
And a diamond-set version of the Royal Oak Chronograph:
Typical exquisite casework by Audemars Piguet:
White ceramic made its way to full watch cases in 2014 as well. Here, the new Royal Oak Offshore Diver in white ceramic case and bezel:
And in the 44mm Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph collection. This one has beautiful dark blue subdials:
Another new entry to the 44mm Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph collection, the black ceramic cased and bezeled anthracite dial:
Certainly one of my favorite new APs. The anthracite dial plays so well in the ceramic case.
Very notable for AP in 2014 was the revamping of the entire 42mm Royal Oak Offshore chronograph line. 6 new models in total replaced the outgoing collection. Pink gold cased and bezeled models are offered with a strap and bracelet.
These gold models are quite striking.
The bracelet model is an absolute monster.
Black dial in stainless steel:
Grey dial in stainless steel:
A new feature common to the 42mm Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph collection, and open caseback:
Blue dial in stainless steel, aka the "Navy":
And again common to all 6 new models, round black ceramic pushers and black ceramic crown:
And the final variation, ivory dial in stainless steel, aka the "Safari".
Having seen these new models a few times, this Safari really appeals to me.
And another personal favorite launched by Audemars Piguet at SIHH 2014, the pink gold 15204 Openworked Extra-Thin. Previously this watch was offered in a platinum case for the 40th Anniversary of the Royal Oak in 2012.
It would be quite easy to get used to this if the budget allowed
So there you have it, the new models from AP offered at SIHH 2014.
What will we see launched by Audemars Piguet at SIHH 2015?
Stay tuned Friends!
