SIHH 2017: Jaeger Lecoultre Reverso Tribute Moon.
You certainly remember that past year, Jaeger Lecoultre unveiled the Reverso Tribute Calendar.
A big case ( 49, 7 x 29, 9 x 10, 9 mm ), available in rose gold only, housing the Cal 853, which is made of 280 parts and 19 jewels.
This year, Jaeger Lecoultre gives birth to the Reverso Tribute Moon, in steel, this time.
The case is slightly smaller ( 49, 4 mm ) the width and the height remaining the same, using the same movement, but, as the pieces of the calendar are removed, with 223 parts.
Both the Reverso Tribute Calendar and Moon offer a second time zone and a night and day indicator on the verso dial.
On the Tribute Moon, you only have a simple date, surrounding the moon phase, which doesn't compromise the purity of this silver grained dial, with its applied blue hour markers and hands.
Here are the pictures I could take at the Jaeger Lecoultre Booth during the SIHH.
As you can see, the verso dial is not bad looking, either, with its blue " clous de Paris " decoration.
One word on the dimensions of this " Tribute Moon ". Try it, in the metal, the figures, especially the 49, 4 mm, can frighten some of us. It is not that frightening, in the reality.
Even if I still think that a bit smaller, it would have been better.

I like the dials.
Especially the colours and the grained vs. guilloche treatments. As you say though, smaller would be preferable...

I like everything about the front dial very much. The larger size compared to the original tribute works for me too. The reverse dial I find less impressive, I would do without the 'Night' and 'Day' labels if I could, but still not a deal breaker. Looking...
A lovely piece but I would have loved to see it smaller...
