Silver or leather, that is the question... (Hamlet??)

Hi all, most of you vintage oriented collectors will know the beautiful silver box which came with the Centenary chronometer. It is executed in sterling silver, has a wood interior and a brown velvet insert to hold the watch.

Recently I came upon a Centenary box which I knew only from the Omega book "A Journey Through Time" and I was able to grab it...

The wooden box is covered with leather and has a label in the lid as you can see in the picture below.

I have watched "the market" and I have observed that the silver box is more common, shows up every now and then. The silver box is desirable due to the precious metal and has a certain value per se... This leather covered box is much rarer... so what I would like to know from you: Do you consider the leather box more collectible or the silver box? Which one is more desirable for you? Let me know your thoughts! Kind regards Erich This message has been edited by mac_omega on 2011-04-29 11:42:42
