F.P. Journe

Study of the Octa Jour et Nuit

As many of you know the Octa Jour et Nuit has had very strong auction results. Many in this forum have said it because it's is the only piece in the Ruthenium limited seires that does not have a regular production counterpart. The day night indicator was the predecessor to the Octa Lune. I remember seeing the piece for sale at an AD and wasn't crazy about it. I found the day night opening to small, the webbed circle with the pointing arrow and centered "N" to be be to spiderman like and distracting. Of course the coloring was amazing and the rest of the watch beautiful. I had preferred the Resonance, Calendrier, Chronograph, and Tourbillon Souverain. Even knowing future auction results I don't think I would have changed my mind back then and bought it.

What do you think of this piece? Do you agree with with auction results in that this piece is truly a collectors piece. Which is your favorite in the Ruthenium series?
