Traveling East, Part 1

We have run out of citrus in our house. We are keeping Art's observation in mind, about too much citrus rotting on the trees in Southern California..

My wife says "No more buying it in the stores, let's pick it (with permission).
So we headed for Mt. Helix, the Grapefruit, Lemon, Lime & Orange capital of our metro area to restock.

After only 10 minutes, we could barely carry our canvas bags to the car. The eggs were a gift; we didn't pick or harvest them.

This should last us for awhile.  We did go back up to the top of Mt. Helix and take some pictures.

We spotted a lunatic driver (much like some WPS folk who shall remain nameless) and I got a few pictures as he zoomed by:

If you see the wall of rock to the right of the road in this picture, imagine it from the top:

where much to our astonishment, we saw a couple perched on the edge in lawn chairs,

recording or podcasting from the top of the rock!

We saw some flora and fauna too.

I apologize for the blurry picture below. I shot wildly in the air as a group of butterflies were "Doing It" all around us. I must have missed that day in junior high school biology because I never knew they could mate in flight.

Whew! Walking back down the hill we saw the Fast White Car in the parking area.

Stopped to buy some ingredients (including the best chips I've ever had) and made a taco salad which we ate while trying to decide whether Negra Modelo from a can (left) is better than from a bottle (right).

I wore this Seiko Presage.
