Vintage GS Love
Snapped some pictures as the sun goes down tonight of several vintage Grand Seiko. I’ve shared these before so I think many of you will be familiar with these watches.
This little collection would (should) have been larger at this point but my rule on these has always been to purchase in person in Japan. And you all know it’s not exactly easy to be in Japan as a visitor this last 15-16 months.
The 61GS always been the favourite for me and it was the first vintage GS I chased. And within that reference the 6156 Special (with the day and date, hardened steel case and faceted crystal) is my favourite of the bunch. So much I have two of them !
There are a couple of 56GS thrown in for good measure below too.
Some photos to share, the light is deteriorating so the quality is not great. But for those of you that are drawn to these this should give you your fill as they say.

Thank you. The side profile gives you a good sense of these cases.
What I like most is that all of this is in a small diameter (~36mm). While the watches may be a little thick for that small size they wear very well.
