weird feelings about 5970R
well well... having acquired my first Patek, a 5196j, a few months ago, i was planning to "buy" my next piece, a 3738 golden ellipse. however, for some mysterious reasons, i opted for the AD5970r instead. call me crazy -i acknowledge i am!- but i went to an AD with the intention to get the 3738, and ... when i saw the 5970 with my naked eyes, i just changed my priority and decided to get this one first. last week, i finally got it. well... strangely enough, i like the 5970, but somehow i prefer the 5196. i thought that i'd love both watches equally, as if they were my sons and daughters, but somehow that's not the case. i LOVE my 5970, but the feeling of joy it causes me is not comprarable to the feelings i had -and still have- about when i bought the 5196.
how do you feel about your pateks? do you love them equally? does your enthusiam slightly diminishes each time you acquire a new model?
maybe i got the 5970 too fast too soon. i didn't "work" for it -no waiting period or prolonged longing for it before buying it- and maybe i can't feel the real joy because i didn't really "earn" it yet.
