Hi, This is an old story repeating. But I'm convinced that the same facts, brought over and over, don't always bring the same outcome. In fact I've asked myself that same question many times, but there's at least one aspect of the equation that changes, m...  

Can clearly compete with the Nautilus, being 3700 or 5711. I will go further... I find a R.O jumbo more appealing than a Nautilus, even a Ref 3700. I find the R.O more sport chic, less ... how to say it correctly... Mannered? The R.O is unique, in its loo...

you may argue that the Nautilus is more refined etc etc, but refinement on a sports watch is less important then sports chic!! the only advantage the Naut has over the Oak is simply it can be hidden under a shirt cuff, other then that, IMHO the Oak trumps...

As i usually tire quickly eith my watches and im always changing Except for my Jumbo and my Milguass I also oen a 5980 and modt certainly know its there to stay Obviously i would suggest getting both but for me if i really had to choise I would always go ...

You can always go for the one where your heart speak then get the other one later. Best way to make a decision is to toss a coin. Wait there's some procedure to this coin tossing thing. 1st. Decide head for the RO and tail for the Nautilus 2nd Toss it and... 

I've owned the nautilus in various forms (5711, 5980, 3710) and the RO in 15300, 15305... so not the 15202 but I would have to say that the PP braclet is better... but the look of the RO is fantastic... more sporty. If I were to choose only one... I'd go ...

I am lucky to have owned both model and I like them both. The different is the higher water water resistance on the 5711 make me choose to wear the nautilus if go for some outdoor activities. Get both!

I personally do not like the 5711 but love the AP, however you says that buying the AP is a comromise for you and not your first choice. Let me tell you that buying a wath that is a compromise is fraught with danger. You will continually hanker after your...

It gave Patek the courage to launch the Nautilus, it is a known fact the original Royal Oak from 1972 paved the way for highly finished luxury sports watches, for that reason alone you should have the original, the grand daddy, the legend, a Royal Oak S P...

That is exactly how I feel about both brands but I couldn't have put it accross as easily. Coming from a former Patek dealer also speaks volumes.

5711 any day. The only nautilus I would consider to be remotely on par with the Jumbo is the ref. 3700, but even then the lack of a transparent caseback tips the balance in favor of the Jumbo. To me, the 5711's dial is just not good-looking; the hour mark...  

If you have always wanted a Nautilus, then suddenly settle for the Jumbo, you might be happy with the Jumbo for awhile but will eventually drift back to wanting the Nautilus. Debating Nautlius vs. RO Jumbo is almost irrelevant. In my humble opinion, you h...

Nautilus is a fantastic watch. I bought my first in 2006, the same year I bought my first Royal Oak. The bracelet of Nautilus is from a different world - much better than the same of RO. Furthermore, it seems that I'm hitting the Royal Oak all the time so...

Genta first, we would likely be calling it the "Patek Philippe Royal Oak," and AP probably would've gone out of business before I was born....  

but can be argued with any big luxury house in almost any industry (ie cars, fashion). The point at the end of the day is the brands do exist, and the designs are proprietary to the brand.
