With Baselworld 2019 approaching quickly, let me speculate a bit about potential PP novelties.
Given the current demand for sporty watches and other rumors about PP’s future, I would expect that they expand further their Nautilus and Aquanaut lines.
As regards Nautilus, I don’t think we will see anything more complicated than an PC. So what is left? Will there be a comeback of a steel chrono? Probably not. Will there be a 5712/1A with white dial? I cannot imagine. A 5712R or P? Why not. After discontinued 5726/1A, a 5726R? Could well be. I could also imagine that, at one point, we will see a Nautilus WT and/or a Nautilus AC/Chrono. However, my dream watch would be a 5740P with salmon dial. I don’t think that this will be introduced in 2019 but why not in 2020? PP please make my dream come true!!!
Expansion of the Aquanaut line: A 5968R? Not too unlikely but rather in 2020. An Aquanaut AC in steel? Oh yes, I would like that. We surely will never see an Aquanaut PC.
Now that the 5170P will run out, it’s also quite likely that we will see a new manually wound chrono, probably starting in G. I guess, PP will skip a J version.
Will we see a 5230P? Quite likely.
Will we see a 5231? Could well be, starting in G, although 5131P is still part of the 2019 collection.

Well, if you base your predictions on the leaked runout list then
We should see a new Calatrava line. Would we see a new chrono with the 5170P out?they may skip a year...5230P was due last year so we should get that this year. New Nautilus models, then yes, a WT a la 5164 would be great....
It's all of course speculation at this stage (for a couple more weeks only!), but I do share some of your reasoning. As for WTs, the 5230P will obviously come at some point...
..though 2019 might be a tad too early, given how lukewarm the R and G versions are still being received. I'm much less positive that we'll ever see a WT for the Nautilus line, though again this is anybody's guess... The 5231 is in order; I bet quite a lo...

While many would love a 5170a as well as a new steel Calatrava I hope they save this for something limited and special. Otherwise the steel idea gets a bit watered out in my opinion.... even though I would love to see it released at some point!

Here are some of mine... not too far off the beaten path for the most part: - 5990/1A white dial - 57212/1R brown dial - 5960/1R - 5204G blue dial - 5968R brown dial - 5370R creme enamel dial - 5205P -!5741/1G - new manual chrono reference to replace 5170...
Could purists please give further educated guesses on a new Calatrava line?

Any speculation about the 5320 ? Right now it is available as a “G” only. The watch may not be popular enough to merit any other versions. I however am very intrigued. Thoughts? comments? I “Kinda” like this watch. Have not been able to pull the trigger y...

5740R, 5726R, a new hobnail Calatrava (perhaps a 38mm with a 324), a ladies diamond bezel version of 7118, ladies 7118R on a strap, 5231, 5968R, 5320R. I would love to see a sector dial 5170P but I highly doubt it. Less than 3 week left to wait!

According to what I found a while ago, Patek did already produce a T piece for a special collector, some 15 to 20 years ago...In fact, they produced as many as five for the same person! I’m just afraid he was in a different league than me as a collector, ...

I don’t believe that’s the case, all the 5196 models remain in the collection.
The official list of discontinued references has been released in January and has nothing to do with instagram, every single AD has received it😉

I’m surprised they are discontinuing the 5296 Line
5296 must be as bread and butter as it gets and has to be the highest production non sports. It’s got to be a new case with the same 324 sc. I wonder if they go bigger or smaller than the existing 38mm case?
New Calatrava
By this point, I am fairly certain we will some new Calatrava offerings. 39-40mm case size, precious metal, but with a sportier aesthetic and finishing on the dial and case details. I can also imagine a 5235R with new dial and hands. Cheers!

I suggested the sportier looks for some - not all - new Calatrava references, due to all the talk about PP wanting to guide new customers away from the Nautilus & Aquanaut lines. Following the same logic, PP created the 5524 reference, so now maybe it...
They definitely have to revive the line but at the same time keep it faithful to its tradition, which is always a difficult balance to strike...
I’m curious to see what they’ll come up with, because Calatrava is probably the line where they can afford less experimentation and there is little room of movement without impacting ‘purity’...for sure, they have already been able to generate a good amou...
