F.P. Journe

Thanks Marc, sometimes we get these nice light conditions.

I think I’m also biased toward looking for pictures with shadows, even for watch pictures where they make obscure some of the watch.

And yes, the CTS is a prized watch for me. It took some time (repeated exposure over a couple of years) for me to see the beauty in this watch.  The pictures never really conveyed this for me.

And then, to acquire it I ultimately sold my Datograph Up/Down. A fantastic watch too.

It was hard to know at the time if that decision was correct but what I did learn after several months with the CTS is that I initially wore it less than the I had worn the Dato and it was pretty much only a Friday and weekend watch for me for the first few years.

Why? Well, it was a work/office dress code issue. The CTS did not match a mostly business casual dress code. Whereas the Dato always worked well.

Fortunately the office dress code changed post COVID and that meant the CTS (and some other watches) got much more wrist time.

Not that I would have reversed the decision just because it was only a weekend watch.  It was my fourth Journe, and it still my “newest” Journe, the last Journe I have bought (there were plans for another but those fell through). It is also one of the rarer Journes, with 72 or 73 in existence.  Not that it matters as relatively they are all rare!
