Keeping the value or not?
Watches don't have to be considered like that, and you gave a perfect examle with FM...
You bought some FM because you were told that he was the only Gran Master still alive, because FM watches were hard to get, because you thought that they keep their value, orr simply because you love them?
Journe or Patek?
Or FM?
That's exactly the smae problem...Why do you want ot get a Patek or a Journe?
The only good answer, IMHO, is because you're in love with...
More in love with the Patek or the Journe?
That's the important thing, and the only important thing.Keeping the value is important, it's true, but you never know...
Imagine Patek stops the 5960 to launch an even much nicer Chrono..Will the 5960 keep its value?
No one knows...
If the 5060 sings loudly to you, so go on it.
If the Journe sings even louder, you know what you have to do!
Listen to your heart,and only to it.

I love the brand and the watches. I think his watches has already proved how meticulous and impeccable Journe is about his work. Recently I visited an AD and tried on few pieces to see how they look. I am even more impressed now. I am also a big Patek fan...

In all honesty I got the FM because of all the variables you listed; the master, the rare availability and of course the very different design(at the time). I was in love with them. And look what it turned out to right now. You know what it is?! I feel th...

somewhat like trying to market time your stock investments. While my 5070G has skyrocketed in value, I honestly get more pleasure wearing my Resonance which hasn't gone up near as much in monetary value BUT the "two" dials, the shaped hands, the movement....

First of all, welcome to the forum and the fun and wacky world of Journe. I won't comment on the "value" of the two watches because price discussions are not inappropriate for this forum. I'm sure you would very much enjoy both watches from a horological ...

...the whole "monster", if you want to call it that, that has arisen in the watch world is certainly not entirely due to a change in the attitude of the collectors but also due to the marketing machine and business practices of the brands and their dealer...
