I am glad (and envious) that you were able to enjoy this delicacy.

Agreed. It's SO delicious and SO expensive, so we indulge on special occaisions
like birthdays, anniversaries, and "splurge" days. 

Enjoyed this in Aprl at the famous "Sakuraya" in Mishima, which has been grilling eel in Shizuoka since 1853. 
I splurged and ordered the 1.5 size. And this is one of THE places where you feel the urge to splurge. 
(If any of you have never tried or are not inclined to try, do give unagi kabayaki a try. You will be hooked at first bite.
