Just a bit puzzled by one thing though. I remember bringing another GP of similar age 5 years back for a service and it was still under service as a modern watch.
And I would usually consider watches pre1980s to be vintage than something from the 90s :P

Shocking, almost as bad as Patek. Very sorry to hear this. Also they take a year to service your watch and only give you a one year warranty - they should at least give a couple of years I would hope.
