Girard Perregaux

Not impressed

I believe elegance is to be found in simplicity (that word rings a bell) but this watch is for those who delight in (superfluous) complexity.
The tourbillon was invented to compensate for the static balance errors in temperature compensated split balances of pocket watches, when the only available hairspring material was steel.
Monometallic Glucydur balances and Nivarox hairsprings largely removed the tourbillon's raison d'etre.
Now admittedly a bi-axial toubillon will eliminate the positional errors in a wristwatch, but if one can't read the minutes, let alone the seconds, what's the point?
