Girard Perregaux

Congrats!

Hi,

congratulations!
The 4770 is a very nice and classy dress watch. And it?s proof of an old rule that it is more difficult to make a small movement (and watch) than a larger one. It is in fact a stunningly thin watch, but keep in mind it bears one of the thinnest automatic movements around!

I think the size is something you will get used to. It depends mostly on what you are used to wear; if it?s a larger piece like the Sub, then of course the dressier GP will appear to be small on first sight.
All i can say it is a matter of getting used to it and personally, i only very few watches measuring larger than 40mm do it for me these days.

Actually, the rotor should turn very quiet. If there?s significant noise or it does sound when winding, i?d have it checked. To my experience, almost all GP movements (older pieces and much more contemporary in-house) do wind very quiet. And GP?s usually wind with only little resistance when using the crown. It does not necessarily indicate there?s something wrong with it; of the same movement, different examples can result in a very different "sound". But if it is surprisingly loud, one should have a look at it to verify there?s nothing wrong.

Again, congratulations!
If you email me the pictures, i?ll try to get them online!

Greetings from germany,

Peter
