I would be fairly confident that the bracelet is correct for the watch. I have seen the combination quite a few previous times.
I would also suggest that your assessment of the model as having been "modest" is wrong. The GP HF chronometers were exceptionally accurate, backed up by many impressive showings at the Observatory competitions. In fact, 73% of the chronometers certified by the Neuchâtel Observatory in 1967 were Gyromatic HF, and GP took the first FIVE places in one competition around the same time!
They also came in quite a few different packages, including 18k gold. Here are a couple of images of one of mine, and let me add that with regard to the accuracy of this one, over a 10 day testing period, my watchmaker reported a TOTAL gain of three seconds! Now, while testing on a bench is not as challenging as on a wrist, that is still an astounding result, and not one that any "modest" watch could ever achieve!
