that he bought this watch in the United States. He was no longer living in Switzerland. I don't think he traveled out of the U.S. at that time, excpet perhaps to the Bahamas.

on your photography set ups! I would not be too fussed if I was you about whether the Gay Freres stamp is on the clasp or not, Consider the fact that the company was purchased by Rolex much later on (1998) and currently makes 100% of the President, Jubile... 

however, you should try it with a nice vintage leather strap, I think it will look gorgeous. Do you know what caliber this model has? Is it a 32A? Best, CC
