Girard Perregaux

Some pics of my Laureato 8010 ... The rarest Laureato reference that most have not heard of

I really appreciate my neo-vintage pieces. 😊 Here are two pics of my Girard-Perregaux Laureato ref 8010. First pic is the blue dial in full steel with the calibre 3100 and the second pic is the 2-tone (rose gold/steel) with the anthracite grey dial. (Do you see where the 50th anniversary Laureato got it's DNA from?) For those that don't know, the 8010 was the first automatic Laureato. Gen 3. Made in 1995 by the legendary Gino Macaluso from Torino. The bracelet was made by Swiss company GTF (now owned by AP) and the dials made by Metlem. Solid. At 36 mm x 7.9 mm and ATM 10, I find them delightful on my 18+ cm wrist. I love the old school charm with the modern engine within. Production numbers were miniscule and it was in the GP catalog for only a couple of years. A hundred pieces or so made in each dial/metal combination. The trend was moving to big watches innthrbkate 90's and GP stopped production of the Laureato 8010 quite quickly. Then in 2003, the Gen 4 Evo3 Laureato was released. Also good watches but not rare as thousands were made. Much larger at 42.6 - 44 mm Hope you enjoyed the little historical perspective of the Laureato 8010. Many don't know if it's existance. It was and will continue to be a pivotal Laureato reference for GP's transition back into the mechanical world. Wishing everyone a pleasant day ahead. 🤝
