Two special GP pieces on March 23 at Antiquorum
G'day,
the upcoming Antiquorum auction on March 23rd will feature two special pieces; actually i?ve never seen these before and both do come with interesting details:
- LOT 43
Girard-Perregaux, "Chronographe Rattrapante,? No. 48, Ref. 9015. Made especially for Ferrari in a limited edition commemorating Michael Schumacher?s victory in the Italian Grand Prix on August 9, 1996.
Fine and rare, self-winding, water-resistant, stainless steel gentleman's wristwatch with round button split-seconds chronograph, registers and a stainless steel Girard-Perregaux buckle.

This watch is a really rare bird as the Rattrapante is not identical with the reference 90120 chronograph. And it?s one of very few in steel.

- LOT 203
Girard-Perregaux, Ferrari Chronograph "F 50,? Ref. 9025, No. 235/250. Made especially for the 50th anniver-sary of Ferrari in a limited edition of 250 examples in 1996. Extremely fine and rare, self-winding, water-resistant, 18K pink gold gentleman's wristwatch with round button chronograph, registers, tachometer, perpetual calendar, the 24 hours with night/day indication and an 18K pink gold Girard-Perregaux deployant clasp.

This watch is special in that the "F50" perpetuals are a rare breed as well. The PG/black dial variants are not frequently found and this one is a limited edition as well, so you really don?t see them often.

As usual, Antiquorum.com will provide you with more details about these. And with what i regard interesting estimates (after all, the F50 is a complicated piece).
Greetings from germany,
Peter
