for her photographic course at College. the D40x is a superb camera and you look like you really understand it.
i use my daughters cast offs, a Fuji finepix s5600 which is a highly recommended not quite SLR digital. i dont really understand it so i must get Nicholas' book. i'd like to take better macro shots, but even in macro mode with a 10x screw on lense attachment i cant seem to master it. i need a light box to avoid all the reflection etc. i understand you can make a light box from a 4 litre white opaque plastic milk bottle. i think you take the labels off, cut a square in it and shine spots at it from outside. the opaqueness diffuses the light. a tripod keeps it all from shaking and Bob's your uncle! dont forget to wash it out first
