Glashütte Original

Marlene Dietrich, Braun and Volkswagen comes to mind.

Beyond the overt German connection, there is lotsa "correlation"

Marlene Dietrich, not just the actress, but her acting In Morroco, the only film she was nominated for an Oscar, despite her mono liners. She didn't speak much English then, and still a sensation cinematically. Just like GO, not much marketing communications.

Braun, not just the brand, but like a Braun shaver. Braun shavers are a market leader, amongst the best of electric shavers, with it's rotating head etc. But sadly, boring. In many ways, GO just doesn't excite!!! Whilst everyone would agree it's a fantastic product etc, it just doesn't cause much excitement!

Volkswagen, not just the VW brand, but Passats and Phaetons. The Pano range is like the Passats...many variants, always reliable. The chronometer is like the phaeton....superb engineering, but never the Merc S class appeal of a Lange.

Just for the record, my fav actress from that era is Marlene, and I use a Braun shaver, and I prefer the Phaeton over the S class. And I saw Arthur leaving Swatch group offices earlier wink-

Best,

Horo
