That is a little disappointing
Yeah, that's a little disappointing, but certainly no show stopper on this still excellent watch. It's funny too, in the movements I looked at that did have the chatons, they were only installed in the 4 "going train" rubis just to the right side of the escapement. The rest of the jewels in the movements were all just like those shown in the photos you sent - and thanks too, for your responses!
At the end of the day, my Navigator will have the solid back (I already emailed GO and they told me I could no longer get the display caseback) and it will ultimately come down to what I know is behind it!

. . . in the cal 100 some time ago, DB. Early production models had them, at least for watches cased in precious metal, but I don't recall any cal 100s in recent years with gold chatons. Yet another reason to have held onto the cal 22 ;-) . . .
